Groveland Police Thank Community for Support Following Dallas Tragedy

GROVELAND — Chief Robert Kirmelewicz and the Groveland Police Department would like to extend a sincere thanks to community members for their support and kind words today in light of last night’s tragedy.

On July 7, five police officers were killed and seven others were injured during an attack in Dallas, Texas — the deadliest incident for law enforcement in U.S. history since Sept. 11.

Groveland Police have received many kind emails and cards from residents today, who have expressed their support for their law enforcement officers. Other citizens stopped into the station to drop off food and flowers to show their appreciation.

“On behalf of the entire Groveland Police Department, we’d like to thank our community for their outpouring of support today,” Chief Kirmelewicz said. “It is comforting, encouraging and touching to know that our residents stand behind their public safety officers.”
