Groveland Police Arrest Suspect in Car Break Case

GROVELAND – Deputy Chief Jeffrey Gillen reports that the Groveland Police Department arrested a man for allegedly attempting to break into cars in Groveland early this morning.

Just after 4:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 20, Groveland Police responded to a report of a person breaking into cars in the area of Birchwood Terrace.

Groveland Police, along with Haverhill Police, Georgetown Police, and Massachusetts State Police, conducted a search of the area and were able to locate the suspect, who was observed by a Groveland officer on road detail just after 8 a.m. The suspect’s bicycle, which was left at the scene, was also recovered.

As a result, JUSTICE HOLMES, AGE 20, OF HAVERHILL, was placed under arrest for Breaking and Entering with Intent to Commit Larceny.

The Groveland Police Department would like to remind residents to lock their cars and not to leave valuables in their vehicles.
