Groveland Police Respond to Multiple Car Break-Ins

GROVELAND — Chief Jeffrey Gillen reports that the Groveland Police Department is actively investigating after multiple cars were broken into over the weekend.

Groveland Police received multiple reports from residents on School Street that their cars were entered late Sunday night, and that several electronics were taken from inside some of the vehicles. Through their investigation, officers also determined that a garage was broken into.

“Residents should always remember to lock their cars when leaving it unattended, regardless of whether it’s parked on a busy street or in your own driveway,” Chief Gillen said. “Locking your vehicle is one of the most straightforward ways to avoid making your personal belongings easily accessible to criminals.”

Groveland Police would also like to remind residents of the importance of removing any expensive items — as well as anything containing sensitive personal information — from inside their vehicles.

Anyone who observes activity that seems suspicious should call Groveland Police immediately at 978-521-1212.
