Groveland Police Department Offers Tips To Prevent Holiday Package Theft

GROVELAND – With the holiday shopping season officially here, Chief Jeffrey Gillen and the Groveland Police Department wish to remind residents of several precautions they can take when ordering items online to help prevent their gifts from falling into the wrong hands.

“Package thieves are constantly coming up with new ways to steal packages from people’s homes, and it’s particularly important for residents to be vigilant around the holidays,” Chief Gillen said. “We encourage residents to take steps to prevent these crimes, and to report to the police if they believe a package has been stolen.”
