Jeffrey T. Gillen, Chief of Police
Jeffrey T. Gillen is the Chief of Police for the Town of Groveland. He started his law enforcement career in 1984 with the Georgetown Police Department. In 1990 he joined the Groveland Police Department.
During his time in Groveland, Chief Gillen was promoted through the ranks. After serving as a detective for eight years he was promoted to the rank of sergeant for three years then to deputy chief for nine years to his current position that he was appointed to in July of 2017.
He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice/Human Services from Springfield College and a Master’s Degree in Criminal Justice Administration from Western New England College. Chief Gillen is a 2012 graduate of the FBI National Academy session 250 located in Quantico, Virginia. Currently, he is the Vice President of the Essex County Chiefs of Police Association.
