The Groveland Police Department offers a Safety Zone in Town for residents located at Police Station in the rear parking lot only. A Safety Zone is a public location where residents, who make online purchases, can safely make an exchange with others. In an effort to eliminate theft, violence, and other dangerous activities this initiative was put in place to make residents feel comfortable when exchanging purchases with strangers.
Groveland Safety Zone has cameras in the parking lot, and is well lit for residents to come make exchanges at any hour, as there are no time restrictions on use.
As a reminder if residents chose not to use the provided Safety Zone, when exchanging online purchases, etc. residents should be cautious of meeting with strangers, meet in a public place, and only make an exchange in well lit areas or before sunset.
