The Groveland Police Department is requesting the public assist them in identifying this man, who was seen trespassing in a private yard on Friday.

Chief Jeffrey T. Gillen and the Groveland Police Department are seeking the public’s help in identifying a man who was spotted trespassing on private property last week.

On the morning of Friday, Sept. 3, a homeowner saw a man walking through their yard on Byfield Road. The man was carrying a shotgun and was wearing an orange reflective vest. The homeowner questioned the man, who left quickly.

“While the man would appear to be a hunter at first glance, he was not fully dressed as a hunter would be,” Chief Gillen said. “It is not hunting season in Massachusetts. We would like to speak with this individual to be able to determine why he would have been in that area.”

Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to call the Groveland Police Department at 978-521-1212.

“As always, the identity of anyone who provides information will remain confidential,” Chief Gillen said.
